The Idaho State Board of Education has set and approved higher education tuition and fees for the 2008-2009 academic year. The University of Idaho, Boise State University and Lewis-Clark State College all received 5% increases, while Idaho State received an increase of 6% and Eastern Idaho Technical College a 2% bump. Initially, the University of Idaho had asked for a 7.9% increase, BSU sought an increase of 6.1% and Idaho State asked for an increase of 7%. LCSC was the only school that received the amount requested. The increases mean U of I students will now see annual matriculation fees of $4,632; Boise State students will see tuition and fees increase to $4,630; students at Idaho State will pay the highest combination of fees and tuition at $4,664. The 5% increase at LCSC means students see tuition and fees amounting to $4,296 annually, while EITC students will now pay fees and tuition of $1,666. The Board’s next regularly scheduled meeting is set for April 17 and 18 in Moscow on the the University of Idaho campus.
