The State Board of Education has unanimously approved University of Idaho plans to open a law program in Boise. The U of I proposal calls for a two-location law school with existing programs in Moscow and another campus in the state’s capital city. The board voted 5-0 to approve the plan Thursday. University officials say they would be ready to open a Boise branch in fall 2009. Initial blueprints anticipate enrollment of 250 students in each location. The state board was the first hurdle for the proposal. Idaho’s constitution requires the School of Law to be based in Moscow. The proposal to offer legal programs in Boise would also require approval from state lawmakers. (AP)
