A North Idaho man has shot and killed a wolf near Lookout Pass on the Idaho/Montana border after the predator attacked his dog.
Barry Sadler of Mullan has been monitoring a wolf pack that has been moving closer to his home and livestock recently. One of his guard dogs is missing and the recent attack on another pet dog nearly killed it.
Under current Idaho law is illegal to kill a wolf unless it endangers the life of a person or their property, including livestock and pets. Idaho Fish and Game officials investigating the incident say it appears the man’s actions were justified and in-line with state law.
