North-central Idaho voters head to the polls on Tuesday to decide maintenance and operations levies for several area schools.

All polling sites – except for Lewiston – are open until 8 p.m.

Lewiston voters will consider a levy rate the same as its been for the past ten years. Taxpayers would pay $4.39 per $1,000 in taxable value to generate some $9.6 million in revenue. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Orofino patrons will consider a $1.49 million levy, up from $1.3 million last year. Passage would maintain current programs, with the cost of about $2.61 per $1,000 in value. Polls open at noon.

The school district in Nezperce is asking for a $220,000 levy, the same as last year, with increased property values actually costing the taxpayers a penny less this time around; polls open at noon.

A $175,000 levy will be voted on in Culdesac, with polls open at 8 a.m., while polls for a $565,000 levy in Genesee are open at 1 p.m.

Highland of Craigmont’s proposed levy is $209,000, and the Kendrick-Juliaetta district is hoping to pass a $445,000 levy with polls open at noon.

There are also a $602,000 levy in Troy and a $674,000 levy for Whitepine – polls open in both districts at 1 p.m. Polls also open at 1 p.m. in Potlatch, where patrons will consider two proposals: $895,000 maintenance and operations levy and a $652,000 plant facilities levy.

Voters in Cottonwood have from noon to 8 p.m. to consider a $208,000 levy. Salmon River School District proposes a $495,000 levy, with polls also open at noon. Mountain View patrons in Grangeville will decide on a $1.68 million levy, will polls open at 8 a.m.
