Another of Washington’s Democratic superdelegates is supporting Barack Obama in the presidential race.

State Party Chairman Dwight Pelz says Obama can win the general election against Republican John McCain.

Pelz has been staying out of the nominating battle between Obama and Hillary Clinton, but since the state party’s delegate selections are essentially complete, he’s ready to make his preference known.

Pelz is the seventh of Washington’s 17 Democratic superdelegates to back Obama - Clinton has five declared supporters, while the rest have not declared their preference.
