North-central Idaho voters on Tuesday approved all the school maintenance and operations levies on the ballots, turning down just one facilities levy.

Lewiston voters approved a levy rate the same as its been for the past ten years, with nearly 83 percent of the 2,367 voters casting ballots giving their approval. Taxpayers will pay $4.39 per $1,000 in taxable value to generate some $9.6 million in revenue.

Orofino School District passed its $1.49 million levy with 70 percent approval, or 575 yes votes out of 826 votes cast. Passage maintains current programs, with the cost of about $2.61 per $1,000 in value.

The school district in Nezperce passed its $220,000 levy with 81 percent approval. The levy is the same as last year, with increased property values actually costing the taxpayers a penny less this time around.

A $175,000 levy won 63 percent approval in Culdesac, and a $565,000 proposal passed in Genesee with 61 percent support. 72 percent of Highland of Craigmont patrons casting ballots greenlighted a $209,000 levy, and the Kendrick-Juliaetta district passed its $445,000 levy with 78 percent yes votes.

A $602,000 levy passed in Troy with 75 percent approval, and a $674,000 levy for Whitepine passed with 73 percent yes votes. In Potlatch, 53 percent of voters approved an $895,000 levy, but rejected a $652,000 plant facilities levy with just 43 percent approval.

A $208,000 levy was successful for the Prairie School District in Cottonwood with 66 percent approval from the 454 votes cast. Salmon River School District in Riggins passed its $495,000 levy with 73 percent of the 261 ballots cast being yes votes. 61 percent of the 2,334 patrons that turned out in the Grangeville-based Mountain View District voted for $1.68 million levy.
