Continued cool, wet weather has kept the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District from implementing watering restrictions for the time being.

With residents not using much water because of the weather, three-times-a-week restrictions did not go into effect on June 1 as scheduled. However, as rains subside and people begin using more water, restrictions will be implemented immediately.

Meanwhile, the second half of LOID irrigation assessments for property is due June 20. Liens may be placed against property for unpaid assessments.

The LOID office at 1520 Powers Ave., is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and has a drop box near the front door and in the parking lot for customer convenience.
