All charges are expected to be dropped against a man charged with trying to extort money from a former Washington state lawmaker after a night of sex last fall. The Spokane County prosecutor’s office will drop charges of extortion, theft and conspiracy against Cody Castagna. The charges followed a night in which Castanga went to the hotel room of Republican state Representative Richard Curtis to have sex, and then tried to force Curtis to pay. The incident came to light after Curtis called police last October to report Castagna had stolen his wallet and was demanding $1,000 to stay quiet. Curtis resigned a few days after the incident became public.
