Former University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball coach George Pfeifer has been hired as the new men’s basketball coach at Montana State University-Billings.

Pfeifer, who spent the past two seasons as the Vandal head coach before being fired in March, will replace 13-year head coach Craig Carse, whose contract wasn’t renewed by the Division II school in April following a 1-28 season.

Pfeifer was fired after a two-year record of 12-48 at Idaho. He coached for 16 years at LCSC, compiling a 296-208 record.
