Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire is heading to next week’s Democratic National Convention in Denver, where she’ll be a delegate for Barack Obama.

Gregoire’s opponent, Republican Dino Rossi, won’t be on hand to see John McCain pick up the GOP nomination next month as he plans on skipping the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.

Gregoire and Rossi faced off in this week’s “top two” primary, the first round of their rematch for governor - Gregoire has about 49 percent of the vote, and Rossi has about 45 percent. (AP)
