Fire crews are still working to contain the 21-hundred acre Porcupine fire burning 20 miles southeast of Elk City. Fire Information Officer Vickie Guthrie says while showers and cooler conditions have helped, the fire is still somewhat active in spots.

The fire is still listed as 20 percent contained, but because the blaze is not threatening any immediate resources, some personnel and equipment are being allowed to re-deploy and re-assigned to other fires and duties in the region.
