Showers and cooler temperatures continue to keep activity at a minimum on the approximately 21-hundred acre Porcupine fire burning about 20 miles southeast of Elk City.  Fire Information Officer Vickie Guthrie says due to the fire’s relative inactivity, fire managers have decided to open some previously closed roads in the area.

The fire is listed as 20 percent contained and crews continue suppression efforts targeting hot spots.
