Idaho Governor Butch Otter has appointed Lewis-Clark State College Provost Tony Fernandez to lead the newly formed Idaho Health Professions Education Council.
During Monday’s State of State Address, Otter talked about Idaho’s growing population and the need for more health care professionals.

The duties of the council include assessing Idaho’s training capacity, develop and provide policy recommendations for achieving state workforce objectives, facilitate training in rural locations, and develop public/private partnerships.
Council members are not paid, but will be reimbursed for the cost of attending meetings, which includes meals, travel, and lodging.
