AAA: Rising gas prices defy supply-demand factors

gasoline.jpgDespite a slumping economy and declining oil prices, gasoline prices have jumped 25-cents over the past 30 days. Dave Carlson with the Idaho Chapter of the American Automobile Association says the increase at the pump defies basic supply and demand factors that normally dictate how much consumers pay for gas.

Still, Idaho is reporting the 5th lowest gasoline prices in the nation at $1.74. Wyoming has the lowest average price per gallon at $1.56, while Alaska has the highest gas prices at $2.47.
