Underdog LC men open playoffs on the road

lcsc_logo1.jpgThe Lewis-Clark State men’s basketball team begins its quest for a third straight post-season conference title when the 6th seed Warriors travel to Havre, Montana Thursday to face #3 seed Montana State-Northern.

The Warriors have struggled to an 11-13 overall record and were swept in two meetings with the 22nd ranked Lights this season. Still, LC head coach Tim Walker says this isn’t the same Warrior team that played against Northern the previous two times.

It’s the third straight year LC has met Northern in the conference play-offs. Two years ago the Warriors beat the Lights 83-60 in the semi-final round. Last year the two teams met for the conference title with LC claiming a 65-63 win, and a second consecutive tournament title.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm PST at the Armory Gym in Havre with live coverage in Talk Radio 950 KOZE-AM and on-line at www.koze-sports.com.
