Idaho senators have voted to give private driving instruction businesses their own licensing board and to move oversight from under the Idaho Department of Education.
Wednesday’s divided 21-14 vote underscored deep animosity within the driving instructor community. Some are satisfied with the present system, while others don’t want to stay under the Department of Education, which also governs driver ed classes through public schools.
The bill now goes to the House. (AP)
