Visitors to Lewis-Clark State College’s Harris Field can expect another major improvement to the facility which hosts the NAIA National Baseball Championship event. A new lighting system is being installed at the ballpark to enhance competition and the overall fan experience.
NAIA World Series Tournament Director Gary Picone says the upgrade has been in the works for several months.

Modifications and improvements at Harris Field have been numerous over the past decade. From redesigning the first and third base line seating to removal of poles from behind home plate, LCSC officials believe ballpark enhancements have played an effective role in the NAIA’s decision to keep the World Series in Lewiston.

The lighting project could also open doors to regional or perhaps even national television opportunities.

Crews began working on installation this week, and the project is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2009 NAIA World Series which begins May 22nd.
