Most area government offices will be closed Friday in observance of the 4th of July holiday.
Offices of the city of Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Clarkston, the Asotin County Courthouse and Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District will close Friday, and LOID also will be closed Monday.
However, banks will remain open Friday and Monday, and garbage collection in Lewiston and Clarkston will not be affected.
The Lewiston solid waste transfer station and EKO Compost Systems will close Saturday, but will reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday.
U.S. Post Offices in the area will close at noon Friday and reopen Monday at the regular time.
Valley Transit will be closed Friday, with all service suspended in Lewiston, Clarkston, Asotin and Moscow, with operations resuming on Monday.
