Warrior women among top-10 academic teams

lcsc_logo1thumbnail1The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team had the sixth best team grade point average among the 200-plus schools in the NAIA for the 2008-09 academic year, according to figures released by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association on Thursday.
The WBCA ranks the Top 25 teams nationally in each classification for its Team Honor Roll, and the Warriors finished in the Top 25 for the third straight year.
Lewis-Clark State posted a team GPA of 3.530 during the 2008-09 academic year under coach Brian Orr, after holding a 3.387 GPA in 2007-08, and a 3.358 team mark in 2006-07.
The Warriors earned the academic honor after another successful season on the court where the team posted a 23-8 record en route to its 13th appearance at the NAIA National Tournament in the last 14 years. The Warriors have had 17 straight seasons of 20-plus victories.
