More sexual abuse charges filed against Lewiston man

A Nez Perce County grand jury has indicted a Lewiston man already in prison for sexual abuse of a minor on additional charges.
Warren Hamilton, 36, is scheduled to appear at an arraignment Thursday where he faces 13 charges of sexual abuse in 2nd District Court. Hamilton was indicted last month by the grand jury, but court documents were sealed until he was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail this week. According to court records, Hamilton faces nine counts of lewd conduct with a child younger than 16 and four counts of sexual battery of a minor 16-17 years of age, all felonies. He is accused of having sexually abused three children from 2002 until his arrest in 2007.
The abuse is alleged to have befun when the children were 9, 13, and 15. Hamilton is serving a 3 to 10-year prison sentence for sexual abuse of a minor. He was sentenced on one count each of rape and lewd conduct with a child younger than 16 from October 2003 to April 2004. Hamilton entered Alford pleas to the charges in 2006 as part of a plea agreement, but reportedly spent six months on the run after skipping his sentencing in August 2006. He was arrested in Moscow in March 2007.
While an Alford plea doesn’t admit guilt in a case, it acknowledges that there is enough evidence to support a conviction.
