Lewis-Clark State College officials conducted the dedication ceremony for the school’s new nursing and health sciences building Friday. College President Dene Thomas opened the ceremony by expressing how much Sacajawea Hall will benefit the community and the state overall.

Idaho Senator Jim Risch, who was governor when the proposed building was approved, spoke about how the nursing shortage at the time made the decision an easy one to make.

The new, 60,000-square foot, state-of-the-art facility houses seven laboratories as well as classroom space for health science students, nursing students and some other classes.
