Firefighters from Idaho are among the crews battling wildfires in California that have forced thousands of residents out of their homes.
Nearly 6,000 firefighters are on wildfire duty throughout California as at least eight wildfires are burning in the state.
32 firefighters from the Sawtooth National Forest were deployed for a two-week stint on the Angeles National Forest about three days ago, just north of Los Angeles. 20 of the Idaho firefighters are from the Sawtooth interagency hotshots, in addition to a 10-man helicopter crew.
The entire crew has a 14-day assignment, but they could have it extended if they’re needed.(KTVB)
