Open burning season begins in Asotin County

open burningAsotin County’s fall open burning season has started and will run until Dec. 15. Burning is permitted between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. All fires must be extinguished by 5 p.m.
Fires must not be larger than 4 feet wide and 3 feet high and must be at least 50 feet from any building, structure or other combustible materials.
Burning items such as garbage, leaves, lawn clippings, rubber, dead animals and building materials is prohibited. Penalties for open burning violations range between $200 and $10,000 depending on the number of violations.
