Warrior hoops teams prepare for season openers

lcsc_logo1.jpgThe Lewis-Clark State basketball teams open the 2009-2010 season this weekend on the road with the men travelling to Walla Walla to face Johnson and Wales, and the women going to Pullman to face WAZZU.

The LC men are looking to rebound after an 11-14 season that saw their string of two consecutive Frontier Conference championships come to an end.

With five returning players including two redshirts and a highly touted recruiting class, Warrior head coach Tim Walker believes he has the right mix of experience, talent and attitude.

Meanwhile, the LC women return a strong nucleus from last year’s Frontier Conference Tournament Champion team that finished the season 23-8 and qualified for the program’s 13th national tournament.

Eight of the eleven players on the roster return and head coach Brian Orr says this group could be as good as any team he’s had.
