Dana Christiansen
Lewis-Clark State right side hitter Dana Christiansen has been named the Frontier Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.
The 5’11” senior from Idaho Falls was a key part of two Warrior wins over Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College last week.
Christiansen averaged three kills per set for the weekend and had11 kills in the win overCarroll.
Meanwhile, the 20-7 Warriors climbed two spots to #21 in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll.
Fellow Frontier Conference member Carroll College fell four spots to No. 23 after being swept by LCSC last week.
The final poll is used to help with the selection for the national tournament – the ranking all but assures LC a spot in the 36-team national tournament, regardless of what happens in the Frontier Conference Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Activity Center.
The field for the national tournament will be announced after the conference tournaments wrap up on Saturday and the pairings will be announced Sunday. The top 12 teams receive first-round byes into pool play at Sioux City, Iowa, while the remaining 24 teams will play 12 first-round matches at host sites. Because LCSC is ranked in that second tier of 12 teams it has a chance of being a first-round host on either Nov. 20 or Nov. 21.
Last season, LCSC was a first-round host site when the Warriors defeated Shawnee State to advance to the 24-team pool play portion of the tournament.
