A Lewiston man died Wednesday morning after the fishing boat he was piloting collided with the Interstate Bridge on the Idaho side of the Snake River.
According to the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s office, 77-year old Harold Miller was traveling north at about 5:30am when his boat collided with a pillar of the Blue Bridge.
Marine deputies retrieved Miller’s body after the boat sank about 30 feet below the surface. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger, 42-year old Len Young of Kellogg was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where his condition is unknown.
The accident remains under investigation.
