Authorities are trying to identify a woman who was found early Wednesday morning lying on a roadway in Whitman County with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby found the unconscious woman on Pullman-Albion Road at about 1:40 a.m. Deputies and EMS personnel responded, and found the woman in a pool of blood in the middle of the road, about 1 mile from the intersection with State Route 27. The woman was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Investigators believe the woman either fell from a moving vehicle or was struck by a car.
