A man died this morning after his fishing boat collided with the Interstate Bridge on the Idaho side of the Snake River.
According to the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s office, the man, whose name has not been released, was traveling north at about 5:30 a.m. when his boat collided with the bridge’s pier. Marine deputies retrieved the man’s body from the boat after it sank about 30 feet below the surface.
Another occupant of the boat was not seriously injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
