Update: Police ID woman found on Pullman-Albion Road

Authorities say a 23-year-old Washington State University student was found early Wednesday morning lying on a roadway in Whitman County with life-threatening injuries.

According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby found Kristen Grindley, of Seattle, unconscious on Pullman-Albion Road at about 1:40 a.m. Deputies and EMS personnel responded, and found Grindley in a pool of blood in the middle of the road, about 1 mile from the intersection with State Route 27.

Grindley was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital, then transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where she is listed in critical condition.

Investigators believe the woman either fell from a moving vehicle or was struck by a car.
