The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home burglary which is believed to have taken place during the overnight hours of Friday November 20 or the early morning hours of Saturday the 21st.
The owners of the residence, which is located in the north central part of the county, were not at home at the time of the burglary. Officials report a large “John Deere” personal safe, with thousands of dollars worth of property was taken. Items in the safe included numerous firearms, cash, rare coins – including hundreds of silver dollars, bank notes, jewelry and property deeds.
A private reward of $5,000 is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary.
