Two Washington State University students were hit by a car at separate intersections of Stadium Way on the WSU campus in Pullman Monday morning, and a suspect is in custody.
According to WSU police, the vehicle was reportedly driving erratically on the Moscow-Pullman highway before entering the campus by turning north on Stadium Way at about 7:30 a.m., striking the first student in a crosswalk near Gannon-Goldsworthy Hall. The vehicle then hit the center median before striking the second student on a sidewalk near Wegner Hall.
The car stopped at the corner of Stadium Way and Grimes, where the driver exited the car and fled before being apprehended by WSU police near McCoy Hall.
The two victims were transported to Pullman Regional Hospital with multiple injuries, though investigators say they don’t appear to be life-threatening.
Officers from WSU, the Pullman police Department, and Whitman County Sheriff’s Office reported to the scene.
No names have been released.
