Avista offers winter heating tips

Avista logoWinter temperatures mean higher heating bills as consumers work to keep the chill off.  Avista Utilities, the region’s largest energy provider is offering heating tips for customers in efforts to save energy and money.

Avista spokesperson Debbie Simock says there are a number of ways the public can do both.

Other helpful tips include: setting water heaters to the “normal” setting or 120 degrees fahrenheit; adding insulation to attics and unfinished basements; and opening window coverings during daylight hours to allow solar heat into rooms, especially south facing windows.
