The Lewiston Police Department is accepting applications for its 17th annual citizens academy. Each year LPD officers conduct the academy as way to introduce members of the community to the inner workings of local law enforcement.
Corporal Eric Kjorness says the course is open to 30 qualified applicants.

Along with passing a basic safety check, applicants 18 years of age and older are required to commit to the program’s 11 week schedule.
