The wolf hunting season has closed in the northern Idaho’s Palouse-Hells Canyon zone after hunters reached the five-animal quota.
It’s the fourth zone to close this season – the Upper Snake zone in eastern Idaho closed Nov. 2, followed by the McCall-Weiser zone on Nov. 9, and the Dworshak-Elk City zone on Nov. 17.
The wolf hunting season remains open in other parts of the state through March 31, or until quotas are met in each zone.
As of Sunday, hunters had harvested 128 wolves. (Idaho Statesman)
