Idaho’s public universities face the possibility of more cuts on top of a $15.2 million loss in current funding as they take their proposals for spending in the next fiscal year to lawmakers this week.
The University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College are up first, with the schools’ presidents scheduled to make presentations to the Joint Finance Appropriations Committee early Monday. Boise State University and Idaho State University will report to the committee later in the week.
Officials at the schools have warned further cuts could threaten programs and put college out of reach for some students because of higher tuition and fee increases. (AP)
