The Idaho District II 1-A Division I Girls Basketball Tournament is down to its final four.
The Troy girls pulled away in overtime to eliminate Lewis County 70-60 Monday night at the Lewis-Clark State College Activity Center.
Despite a game-high 27 points from junior guard Michelle Seitz, the Eagles were unable to keep pace with the Trojans. Troy senior Kayla Griffin opened the extra period with back-to-back three point plays – one on a two-point field goal and foul shot and the other from three-point land.
The win moved Troy into the district consolation game for an opportunity to compete in a State Tournament Play-In Game this weekend.
In other action, Genesee used a balanced inside-out attack to eliminate Prairie 44-30.
Senior post Tori Johnson controlled the paint with a game-high 15 points for the Bulldogs, while guards Kendell Kelnhofer and Katelyn Phillips scored 8 points each.
Sophomore MaKayla Schaeffer led Prairie with 7 points.
The tournament will conclude Wednesday night at the LCSC Activity Center.
Troy will meet Genesee in the Consolation game at 6:15pm PST and top-seed and defending state champion Lapwai will meet #2 seed and last year’s state runner-up Clearwater Valley for the district championship at 7:45pm.
