LHS girls headed to state for first time since 1989

Nicole Redd scored 24 points as the Lewiston High School girls basketball team beat Coeur d’Alene 53-41 in the 5A District I-II title game Tuesday night at Booth Hall, sending the Bengals to their first state tournament since 1989.

Lewiston, which has won 13 straight to improve to 19-2, will begin its quest for the state title Feb. 18 at the Idaho Center in Nampa. The Bengals’ opponent is yet to be determined.
