Asotin County has lost in its bid to get federal stimulus cash to help pay for a revamp of the Fleshman Way interchange.
The federal government on Wednesday announced the winning grants competing for $1.5 billion in transportation funding.
The estimated $8 million project to place a roundabout on State Route 129 under a portion of the Southway Bridge with a westbound off-ramp and east-side on-ramp would have started construction in 2011 had the grant proposal been accepted.
Asotin County officials are unsure when the Fleshman Way project will start since the county alone can’t cover the cost and will have to continue seeking federal funding.
