The Lewis-Clark State men’s basketball team saw its season come to an end after a 78-71 loss to Montana State-Northern on the road in the opening round of the Frontier Conference playoffs Tuesday night.
Senior guard Andrew Sellars hit five of Northern’s eleven three-point field goals and led three players in double figures scoring with 22 points. Overall, the Lights hit 51 percent from the field and converted 17 of 24 free throws to put the game away.
Junior guard Markus Monroe led the LC attack with 16 points, junior guard Jared Giammona added 13 and senior post Tanner McIntosh had 12.
The Warriors end the season with an overall record of 14-15. Northern moves on to the conference semi-finals where they’ll face #2 seed Montana Western in Dillon, Montana Friday.
Meanwhile, the Frontier Conference women’s playoffs begin Wednesday night for the 13th ranked Warrior women.
As the #2 seed, LC will host #7 seed Montana Western at the Activity Center. The Warriors swept the Bulldogs during the regular season – winning in Dillon, Montana 72-56 and 100-55 in Lewiston last month.
