Veterans who have served in the military for at least two years and received an honorable discharge are one step closer to receiving a substantial break in tuition payments at Idaho’s colleges and universities.
The House Education Committee voted unanimously on Tuesday for a measure that would give those veterans in-state tuition at publicly-funded institutions of higher education.
Co-sponsors of the bill, which had the input of the State Department of Education, estimate the tuition break could save out-of-state veterans as much as $10,000 during the course of their education.
The measure now heads to the full House. It has already passed the Senate. (IdahoReporter.com)
