Idaho Senate OKs specialty license plates for cycling, wilderness

The Idaho Senate has approved creation of two specialty license plates for nature enthusiasts.

One plate would raise money to maintain recreational trails often used by mountain bikers. Another would generate funds to protect the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness area in Idaho and Montana.

Each plate costs $35, in addition to all other applicable annual registration fees. Renewals carry a $25 fee.

About 40 other specialty plates already allow Idaho drivers to financially support their favorite nonprofit organizations. (IdahoReporter.com, AP)
