Oregon men lose hunting privileges for poaching in Idaho

Two Oregon residents each must pay about $10,000 in penalties and lost their hunting privileges for nearly a decade after being convicted of poaching in Idaho.

Aaron Loosli, a former Rexburg resident who now lives in La Pine, Ore., was sentenced earlier this month in Idaho’s Madison County for unlawful possession of a bull moose in October 2004.

Loosli’s sentence includes a nine-year revocation of hunting privileges, a suspended jail sentence, 150 hours of community service and a ban on carrying weapons during his probation.

Daniel Parker of Bend, Ore., was also found guilty in the bull moose’s killing and got a similar sentence.

Loosli and Parker were nabbed in 2008 when a camera left at an illegal bear bait in Oregon implicated several individuals in poaching in both states. (AP)
