The jury in the murder trial of a former Potlatch-area resident was scheduled to continue deliberations on Monday in San Diego.
Jonathan French, 41, is charged with murder in the July 31 slashing death of court reporter Jennifer Stark, 43. Court records say the two had an on-again, off-again relationship over a number of years.
The defense contends that Stark died in the heat of an argument and that French should be charged with manslaughter, not murder.
If convicted on the murder charge, French faces a possibility of 26 years to life in prison.
