Police: Boise man doesn’t pull over, dies in crash

Law enforcement agencies are investigating the death of a 50-year-old Boise man who police say died in a crash after failing to stop his vehicle despite being followed by a patrol car with flashing lights and siren.

The Ada County sheriff’s office says witnesses reported a slow-moving Honda Accord westbound on Highway 44 weaving into oncoming traffic at about 9:10 a.m. Saturday.

An Eagle Police deputy arrived and followed the car for several miles before it left the road and crashed into a barrier.

The Boise Police Department is investigating whether the deputy’s actions contributed to the crash or the man’s death.

The Idaho State Police are also investigating because police were attempting to make a traffic stop at the time of the crash.

The man’s name has not been released.  (AP)
