Rain washes away Wednesday series games, schedule amended

Perpetual rain showers have forced NAIA World Series officials to scratch both games scheduled for Wednesday at Lewiston’s Harris Field.

Field conditions and the forecast of more rain showers means the schedule will be amended with three games on tap for Thursday, including the possible championship game.

Point Loma Nazarene of California will play Cumberland of Tennessee at 11am PDT Thursday and Embry-Riddle of Florida will face off against Lee of Tennessee at 3pm.

If Cumberland wins, the Bulldogs will play for the National Championship against the winner of the Lee/Embry-Riddle game at 7pm.

Other scenarios may be in play depending on the outcomes of the games, but the tournament cannot extend beyond Friday due to travel arrangements for tournament teams, umpires and officials.
