Saturday is free fishing day in Idaho

Saturday is free fishing day in Idaho and the state department of Fish and Game is inviting anglers, both resident and non-resident, to celebrate the day by fishing without a license.

The annual event is designed to introduce the joys of fishing to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity.

Mike Demick with the department’s Clearwater Office says several clinics are planned throughout the region with volunteers on hand to answer questions and give advice.

IDFG’s Mike Demick comments on Free Fishing Day.

While fishing is allowed without a license, all other regulations pertaining to limits, opening dates and tackle restrictions remain in effect.
