Boise State University’s move to the Mountain West Conference means they aren’t likely to play rival University of Idaho in 2011.
BSU, now in the Western Athletic Conference, will become the Mountain West’s 10th member effective July 1, 2011.
The Broncos are scheduled to play five non-conference games that season against the University of Mississippi, Toledo and Tulsa, as well as Utah and Wyoming.
Utah and Wyoming are in the Mountain West, so those would become conference games.
With the three remaining non-conference games set, BSU athletic officials say the chances are poor for a game against Idaho, a Western Athletic Conference member.
BSU may have one non-conference opening to fill come 2012, though officials didn’t commit to resuming the Vandals rivalry. (AP)
