Lewis-Clark State College baseball coach Ed Cheff will retire September 1st.
In a statement released to media Wednesday Cheff acknowledged the Lewis-Clark Valley for its support of the program in helping build it into a national power.
He also wrote how former long time Washington State head coach Bobo Brayton made him a better coach throughout their rivalry on the field.
LCSC Interim President Tony Fernandez has named LC Athletic Director Gary Picone as the new head coach. Associate head coach Gus Knickrehm will remain as the team’s pitching coach.
In 34 years as head coach Cheff won an unprecedented 16 NAIA National Championships and helped guide hundreds of players into professional baseball.
