A severely injured Marine from Cottonwood was given a standing ovation on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives as lawmakers thanked him for his service in Afghanistan.
Lance Cpl. Randal Wright was introduced to Congress on Monday as a guest of U.S. Representative Walt Minnick, who represents Idaho’s 1st Congressional District.
Wright, 23, was injured by an improvised explosive device, or IED, and lost his legs and an arm. He is being treated at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Wright also met with U.S. Representative Mike Simpson, who represents eastern Idaho, while touring the Capitol this week. (AP, Idaho Reporter)
