Highway 195 was closed at 2:15 p.m. south of Pullman due to a fast moving wildfire between Pullman and Colton.
The roadway was closed down between mileposts 15 and 19 and structures are threatened.
No word on the size of the fire or when the highway will reopen.
Motorists traveling north can reach Pullman through Moscow on U.S. Highway 95 or from Staley Road, four miles south of Pullman, to Johnson Road on Highway 195.
